Synopsis

During the last few years, electronic games monopolize the interest of young people. Thus, from being a harmless entertainment, they tend to become a new kind of addiction.
The image of kids returning after their outdoor games, with muddy clothes and bleeding knees, has been substituted by the image of kids with tired eyes, for hours stuck in front of the computer screen.
However, the excessive occupation with this new attractive world, often, has unpleasant consequences. The users alienate themselves in the “digital world”, disregarding even rudimentary necessities.
The documentary “Try again” follows three young men, in three European cities-in Germany, Netherlands and Greece- during their efforts to free themselves of the excessive use of the computer. They speak openly of their private stories, from the time they first started playing on the computer to the present time, at the completion of their therapy, making a new start in the “real world”.

Director’s Statement

The loss of every interest in the “real world” and the infatuation with the digital reality is the main symptom of video games addiction. “Try again” tries to get to know with  this new “disease”, its causes and the ways out of this form of addiction, which still remains to be explored by the experts.
